After he had found a very out-of-the-way place to live, he returned to find that "someone" had spread surveillance photos of him on his floor along with a "Welcome to Miami" greeting card.Ĭowan did come to Miami but left Michael a "friendship" card instead of meeting because Sam was there watching Michael's back.
He needed to make contact with any of his old friends and contacts he could find that would talk to him and discovered that the only way he could "hold it together" was to do a series of "odd jobs" (from a special forces/'I used to be a spy' kind of perspective) for not only something to occupy his mind but for spending money as well.
He decided that he absolutely had to find out WHY he was burned by any means possible. All attempts at contacting his old "handler," Dan Siebles, failed and for some unexplained reason he was being tailed by the FBI. Absolutely no information was given to him except that "he was out" and he had been placed on the "no fly" list and had all his bank accounts frozen. While unconscious, "Someone" instructed the airlines to take him to Miami and then "someone" left him unconscious in a motel where a maid eventually called the "emergency contact" person she found in his wallet.
"It's Amanda's show," Shanks says, "and she wants to make it very clear it's not 'Stargate.' As much as she'd like to have friends over there, at the same time, she has her own mark to make with that show.Without any warning, and right in the middle of a dangerous assignment, Michael Westen was "let go" from the CIA – they call it being "Burned." Being severely beaten up and rendered nearly unconscious he barely made it to a plane where he passed out. He has no plans to appear on "Sanctuary," the new Sci Fi Channel series from "SG-1" and "Stargate Atlantis" star Amanda Tapping, premiering Oct. "I get all of my information from Christopher, so I have to take everything with a boulder of salt." "It looks like a great, well-respected show-runner has come on board and is working on a seven-year plan for it," Shanks says. The fantasy pilot casts Judge as the angel Gabriel, with Shanks as Lucifer. "It was my first big job, and it's been going on for a dozen years now, and it still goes on."Īccording to Shanks, development continues on "Rage of Angels," a TV-series project he's working on with "SG-1" co-star Christopher Judge. I love working with my 'Stargate' family. If it happens, Shanks says, "I can't always guarantee - we have to live our lives regardless - but if I'm free, I'll jump at the opportunity to do it. Last month, at Comic-Con International in San Diego, Calif., "Continuum" writer and executive producer Brad Wright said he's been asked to write a script for another "SG-1" movie, but, as Shanks says, "That's, of course, far off from us getting in front of the camera to do it."
Most recently, Shanks could be seen in the DVD release of "Stargate: Continuum," a stand-alone movie featuring the "SG-1" characters. "Guys of my generation, after watching 'Army of Darkness' or the 'Evil Dead' movies - Bruce becomes a type of superhero to you." "Bruce is a personal hero of mine," Shanks says. Unfortunately, Shanks didn't get to do any scenes with Bruce Campbell, who plays Michael's spy buddy Sam Axe. Matt teased me with a few tidbits, which I can't really reveal." I'm not entirely sure what the storyline is. I'm doing the last three episodes of the season. As a bonus, Shanks says, "I'm coming back in September for about a month.
